OHIO — A man was killed Saturday afternoon after his vehicle crashed into a home on the city’s west side.
According to Cleveland EMS, crews responded around noon to a residence in the 19300 block of Puritas Avenue after receiving reports of a car that had collided with a house.
Cleveland Police said a GMC Yukon was traveling eastbound on Puritas Avenue when it veered off the road and struck a car stopped in the westbound lane.
“The Yukon then continued eastbound, striking an embankment, which caused the vehicle to become temporarily airborne before landing and colliding with a second parked vehicle,” police said in a statement.
The driver of the Yukon, a 50-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the first car hit was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
The Cleveland Police Accident Investigation Unit continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
