INDIANA — A 7-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening in Westfield, according to authorities.
Officers and emergency personnel responded around 6 p.m. to a report of a child struck by a vehicle in the 19600 block of Tomlinson Road.
When first responders arrived, they found a juvenile male suffering from life-threatening injuries. A medical helicopter was initially requested, but the child was ultimately transported by ambulance to a children’s hospital in Indianapolis.
Police said the child remained in critical condition before being pronounced dead shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Graham Stidham, 7.
Westfield Police said the department’s crash reconstruction team responded to the scene to process evidence and investigate the collision. Authorities reported that the driver remained at the scene and that there is no indication impairment was a contributing factor in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
