
INDIANA — A pedestrian died early Friday morning after being struck by a train on Indianapolis’ southwest side, according to police.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the area of Rockville Road and Robton Avenue at approximately 4:10 a.m. following reports of an accident involving injuries.
When officers arrived, they found a person who had reportedly been hit by a train. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the individual dead.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.
Police said it remains unclear what circumstances led to the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
