ILLINOIS — One person was killed after being struck by a semitruck on Interstate 64 westbound near O’Fallon Friday morning, authorities said.
According to the O’Fallon Fire Department, the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. at milepost 14. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
Officials said two left lanes of the westbound roadway were blocked following the incident.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
Illinois State Police have been contacted for additional information, and the incident remains under investigation.
