One person dead after being shot while driving vehicle in Ohio

OHIO — A 30-year-old man was killed after being shot while driving Monday night, causing a crash on Euclid Avenue, according to Cleveland police.

Officers responded around 8:48 p.m. May 4 to reports of shots fired in the 12100 block of Euclid Avenue. When they arrived, they found University Circle police officers administering first aid to a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Preliminary information indicates the man was driving when he was shot, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a utility pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman and two juveniles who were also in the vehicle were transported to a hospital by Cleveland EMS with minor injuries.

The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate the shooting.
