One person arrested for DUI after striking person with vehicle in Georgia

GEORGIA — A Macon man is facing DUI charges after a deadly pedestrian crash Sunday night in Bibb County, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. on Eisenhower Parkway near Heron Street.

Investigators said a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling west on Eisenhower Parkway when it struck a 61-year-old man who was crossing the roadway while wearing dark clothing.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Leon Jones. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name as family members are being notified.

Deputies identified the driver as Dadrean Rashard Felton of Macon. Investigators said Felton was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody.

Felton has been charged with DUI and is being held without bond.

No other injuries were reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
