FLORIDA — A Miami-Dade County man is facing an attempted murder charge after deputies said he stabbed another man who tried to intervene during a fight involving the suspect’s relatives.
According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday at an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Northwest 103rd Street.
Deputies said the victim was in the parking lot with 30-year-old Armando Del Busto when the victim learned that someone he knew was involved in a physical altercation on the third floor of the building.
Investigators said the victim ran upstairs to intervene in the fight while Del Busto followed behind, allegedly threatening to stab him.
Once on the third floor, deputies said Del Busto stabbed the victim in the back with a knife.
Authorities said the victim managed to run away and call 911. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center for treatment.
According to the report, Del Busto fled the scene in a white Cadillac, but deputies located the vehicle a short time later and detained him.
Investigators said Del Busto was taken to the sheriff’s office Northside District station, where he confessed to the stabbing.
As of Thursday morning, Del Busto remained held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Online jail records showed his bond had not yet been set.
