OHIO — An area man has been arrested on felony charges following an investigation into a series of thefts in the Richmond area.

According to authorities, the Richmond Police Department’s Investigative Services Division (ISD) worked alongside the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department to identify and arrest Jesse Maiden in connection with multiple theft incidents.

The investigation began in February 2026 after a theft was reported at a local hotel. Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified Maiden as a suspect in numerous thefts across the area.

Police said Maiden was taken into custody May 3 near Holsapple Road on an outstanding warrant for theft with a prior conviction, a Level 6 felony.
