INDIANA — An Evansville, Indiana man has been arrested following a long-term investigation into alleged narcotics trafficking, according to authorities.

The Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force said investigators spent the past two years looking into the activities of Dionta Goodwin throughout Evansville and Vanderburgh County, Indiana.

During the investigation, detectives identified multiple properties connected to Goodwin, including a residence on South Lincoln Park Drive and another on South Denby Avenue that was believed to be used as a stash house.

Authorities said search warrants were obtained for both locations in July 2024. While conducting surveillance prior to executing those warrants, detectives observed individuals leaving the Denby Avenue home with four children and conducted a traffic stop. The adults in the vehicle were identified as Franshawn Delaney and Toureese McCollough, who were detained. Officials said the children were turned over to the Indiana Department of Child Services.

Investigators also followed Goodwin from the Lincoln Park Drive residence and stopped him along with another driver identified as Alysha Armstead. Authorities said cash, cell phones and firearms were found during the stop.

A search of the Denby Avenue home and a vehicle linked to the investigation led to the seizure of large quantities of suspected drugs and weapons. Officials said detectives recovered substances that tested positive for cocaine, fentanyl, THC and MDMA, along with multiple firearms, including an AK-style rifle and AR-style pistols, ammunition, drug packaging materials and other items commonly associated with narcotics distribution.

Authorities said more than 1,000 grams of suspected cocaine and hundreds of grams of suspected fentanyl were among the items seized.

Investigators also noted that McCollough has prior felony convictions, including murder and unlawful possession of a weapon, making it illegal for him to possess firearms.

Goodwin was taken into custody and is facing charges including dealing cocaine, dealing fentanyl, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and child neglect.

The investigation remains ongoing.
