SOUTH CAROLINA — A traffic stop in Sumter County led to the arrest of a man on multiple drug charges, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said a deputy observed a vehicle with questionable window tinting on St. Paul’s Church Road Friday afternoon and initiated a traffic stop.
During the stop, deputies reported seeing open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle, prompting a probable cause search.
Officials said one of the passengers, identified as Calvin Devon Sinkler, was found to be in possession of illegal drugs and was taken into custody.
Sinkler has been charged with possession of cocaine, trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of crack cocaine, all listed as second offenses.
Investigators said the estimated street value of the drugs seized exceeds $800.
Sinkler is currently being held on bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
