MISSOURI — A Dixon man was taken into custody Monday after authorities found him unconscious in his vehicle with drugs and a weapon nearby, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Troopers assisted Pulaski County officials in arresting Kyle R. Cross for delivery of a controlled substance.
When law enforcement arrived, they found Cross passed out inside the vehicle with a rifle within reach.
A search of the vehicle led deputies to find a box of ammunition in Cross’s pocket and a glass pipe containing narcotics residue.
According to court documents, a large baggie filled with a crystal-like substance was also discovered in the center console.
Cross reportedly told deputies the baggie contained salt and said he had paid $175 for it, though he did not believe it was methamphetamine.
However, field testing confirmed the substance was meth, authorities said.
Cross was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon. He was booked into the Pulaski County Jail and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
