ALABAMA — A Huntsville man was arrested Wednesday after police said officers discovered fentanyl during a traffic stop.
According to Huntsville police, the stop happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, near Springhill Road and Blue Spring Road.
Police identified the driver as 55-year-old Anthony Maurice Hayes of Huntsville. Authorities said Hayes had an active warrant and was taken into custody.
During the arrest, officers reportedly found approximately 2.6 grams of fentanyl on Hayes. Police said the amount met the threshold for a drug trafficking charge.
Hayes was charged with drug trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia.
