
SOUTH CAROLINA — A motorcyclist died early Wednesday morning after a police chase ended in a crash in the Myrtle Beach area, according to authorities.
The crash happened around 2:10 a.m. on Robert Grissom Parkway at 38th Avenue.
The Horry County Sheriff’s Office said preliminary information indicates the South Carolina Highway Patrol attempted to stop a motorcycle traveling on Highway 31. The rider did not pull over, leading to a high-speed pursuit.
During the chase, the motorcyclist lost control of the bike and crashed, dying from injuries sustained in the wreck.
The Horry County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation. No additional details have been released.
