SOUTH CAROLINA — A 15-year-old mother and her infant daughter who had been missing for more than a month have been found safe, according to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the teen and her 5-month-old daughter were reported missing on March 21 by family members.
The sheriff’s office’s missing persons unit, working alongside the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and Indiana State Police, followed leads that ultimately led investigators to Kokomo, Indiana.
Authorities confirmed both the mother and child have been safely located. Family members are now traveling to Indiana to bring them home, deputies said.
No additional details about the circumstances surrounding their disappearance or how they were found have been released.
The case remains under investigation.
