
OHIO — One person was hospitalized following a three-vehicle crash in west Toledo Thursday afternoon, according to police.
The crash happened around 12:46 p.m. at the intersection of West Alexis Road and Lewis Avenue.
Authorities said an 86-year-old driver from Palmyra, Michigan, was traveling east on West Alexis Road when she drove through a red light and into traffic. Her vehicle was then struck by another car traveling south on Lewis Avenue.
Police said that second vehicle went on to hit a third vehicle that was stopped in a left-turn lane facing north on Lewis.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 45-year-old from Maybee, Michigan, was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
