
WEST VIRGINIA — A Canadian man accused of kidnapping a northern Ohio woman was arrested Tuesday in West Virginia, according to state police.
West Virginia State Police said 26-year-old Austin Dubois was taken into custody during a traffic stop along U.S. 50 in Grafton in Taylor County.
Investigators said Dubois is accused of kidnapping a 24-year-old woman from South Euclid, Ohio, and traveling with her into West Virginia. Troopers said the woman was inside the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop.
Dubois, who authorities identified as a Canadian citizen, is being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
Jail records show he is facing charges in West Virginia including kidnapping, sexual assault, sexual abuse and malicious assault.
Troopers said additional charges are pending in Ohio and that Dubois could also face federal charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
