OHIO — Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted a raid at Pancho’s Tacos in Mount Vernon on Thursday afternoon, according to a statement from the City of Mount Vernon.
City officials said they became aware of the operation around 12:30 p.m.
The Mount Vernon Police Department and the city’s law director were not notified or included in any coordination regarding the timing, scope, or nature of the raid, the statement said.
“The City of Mount Vernon is committed to seeking more information from the agencies involved,” the city’s statement read. “The City remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting our citizens, upholding the rule of law, and, above all else, defending the Constitution of the United States and the principle of due process for all individuals.”
Officials said the city will share additional information with the public as it becomes available.
