Four people arrested following drug bust at Virginia motel

VIRGINIA — Four people have been arrested following a months-long investigation into a drug distribution operation at a motel in Fairfax County, according to police.

The Fairfax County Police Department said officers executed a search warrant around 5 a.m. on April 17 at the Red Carpet Inn in the Mount Vernon area.

Investigators said the operation uncovered a narcotics distribution ring that was using multiple motel rooms to sell drugs.

Police identified the suspects as Elizabeth Pierce, 66, of Alexandria; Taevon Moore, 33, of Washington, D.C.; Shawn Banks, 36, of Alexandria; and Jose Gomez, 28, of Alexandria.

During the raid, officers recovered an illegally possessed firearm, more than 23 grams of suspected cocaine, about 2 grams of fentanyl, 40 Xanax bars and approximately $1,500 in cash, according to police.

Pierce was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and maintaining a nuisance house. She was later released on a $2,000 bond.

Moore faces multiple charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to distribute drugs while possessing a firearm. He was held without bond.

Banks was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of crack cocaine and distribution of controlled paraphernalia. He was later released on a $1,000 bond.

Gomez was served with a probation violation warrant and later released on an unsecured bond.
