SOUTH CAROLINA — Two foster parents have been charged in connection with the death of a 4-year-old child following a lengthy investigation by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

According to investigators, 42-year-old Nancy Dianne West and 46-year-old Bradley Kyle Craig were arrested Thursday and charged with homicide by child abuse.

Deputies originally responded to a home in the 1300 block of Chinquapin Road in Travelers Rest on April 24 after receiving a 911 call about an unresponsive child.

The 4-year-old girl was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Investigators said West and Craig were the child’s legal foster parents at the time of the incident. Authorities allege the pair deprived the child of proper nutrition.

Following the investigation, deputies arrested both West and Craig at their Travelers Rest residence.

The two remain in custody at the Greenville County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.

The investigation remains ongoing. All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
