OHIO — Flooding has forced the closure of portions of State Route 725 in Greene County, while Butler Township officials issued a high-water alert for several roads Saturday morning.
All lanes of SR-725 East at Washington Mill Road and SR-725 West at Penewit Road are closed because of flooding.
Bellbrook police told the station that drivers should avoid the area and use alternate routes until conditions improve.
In Butler Township, police warned motorists about high water affecting multiple roadways, including Little York Road between Frederick Pike and Stoner Road, Meeker Road between Heathcliff and Westfall roads and the intersection of Frederick Pike and Peter’s Road.
Officials urged drivers not to travel through flooded roadways or around barricades.
“Please exercise caution and avoid driving through flooded areas or around barricades,” the Butler Township Police Department said in a statement. “Emergency responders are actively engaged in multiple locations working to maintain community safety.”
The closures come as heavy rain continues across parts of the Miami Valley under ongoing flood advisories and weather alerts.
