
GEORGIA — A tractor-trailer driver died Wednesday morning after being run over by their own vehicle during roadside repairs, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Troopers said the incident happened around 8:55 a.m. on April 15 along GA-262 near Wade Road.
According to investigators, the driver had stopped the tractor-trailer and exited the vehicle to perform a mechanical adjustment. Authorities said the driver crawled underneath the tractor, and while they were underneath, the vehicle rolled forward.
The tractor-trailer traveled over the driver, causing fatal injuries, officials said.
The driver’s identity has not yet been released.
A Department of Public Safety Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officer also responded to the scene and inspected the vehicle as part of the investigation.
The incident remains under investigation.
