Body found in vacant Kroger in Georgia, investigation underway

GEORGIA — Cobb County police are investigating a suspicious death after a man’s body was discovered inside a vacant Kroger store Thursday morning.

According to investigators, the body was found just after 10 a.m. when a maintenance worker entered the building to check for a possible water leak.

Police said the death is being investigated as suspicious and foul play is suspected.

The vacant Kroger store has been closed since 2024, authorities said.

Investigators have not released the identity of the man or details about how he died.
