SOUTH CAROLINA — A bicyclist was killed early Friday morning in a crash involving a car in Orangeburg County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around midnight on Cannon Bridge Road near Riley Road.
Investigators said the bicyclist was traveling north in the southbound lane of Cannon Bridge Road while a 2001 Honda sedan was traveling south when the two collided.
The bicyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, according to SCHP.
Authorities said the driver of the Honda was not injured.
The identity of the bicyclist has not been released.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
