MISSISSIPPI — A Mississippi man is recovering in the hospital after being shot in the back of the head Thursday evening in McComb, according to the McComb Police Department.
The shooting occurred around 7:21 p.m. in the 1300 block of Ashley Street. When officers arrived, they found Jaylen Jewell Hayes of Osyka sitting in a blue Ford Fusion and asking for help. Police said Hayes had a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
He was taken by ambulance to the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
