
MISSISSIPPI — Two people were killed Saturday morning after an armed robbery suspect crashed into another vehicle during a police chase.
Investigators said the suspect was driving a gold Ford Expedition believed to be involved in a shoplifting incident at a Dollar General in Terry. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle on I-55, the driver fled, leading authorities toward Byram.
The chase ended near Raymond Road Extension and Robinson Road when the suspect’s SUV collided with another car carrying three people.
Two victims, identified as 48-year-old Shali Davenport and her mother, 66-year-old Debra Washington, were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person in the car was hospitalized.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
