
ALABAMA — Two people were injured Friday morning after a vehicle crashed into Florence Middle School, authorities reported.
The Florence Police Department said one driver was airlifted to a hospital, while another was transported by ambulance following the crash, which occurred around 8:23 a.m. on Hermitage Drive at the north end of the school.
Due to the incident, Florence Middle School released students early at 9:30 a.m. Officials are urging the public to avoid the areas of Hermitage Drive and Kendrick Street while crews work to clear the scene.
No further details about the condition of the drivers or the cause of the crash have been released.
