KENTUCKY — Louisville Metro Police seized large quantities of drugs and firearms from a Newburg home earlier this week.
Police said detectives executed a search warrant Friday, Sept. 26, at a residence on the 5000 block of Yew Lane, near Shasta Trail.
The search uncovered two illegal firearms and about one pound of pure fentanyl, which authorities said could be lethal to roughly 225,000 people, or about 36% of Jefferson County residents.
Officers also recovered 5.26 ounces of high-purity cocaine and 8 ounces of marijuana.
LMPD stated that the operation removed dangerous drugs from the streets and significantly disrupted a drug network, improving safety in the neighborhood. The investigation is ongoing with support from federal agencies.
