VIRGINIA — Three people are facing multiple drug and firearm charges following a bust at a local hotel, police announced Monday.

According to the Wytheville Police Department and the Claytor Lake Regional Drug Task Force, the arrests stemmed from a trespassing complaint at the Spark by Hilton hotel on Sunday, September 7.

When officers responded, they found two suspects in violation of hotel policy.

During the initial investigation, police reported seeing several bags containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine and fentanyl, along with mushrooms and drug paraphernalia, in plain view inside the hotel room.

A search warrant was obtained, leading to the seizure of about 12 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 20 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and 4 grams of suspected cocaine.

Police said a third suspect later arrived at the hotel with stolen property and a firearm. A search of her vehicle uncovered a handgun and an additional magazine.

The suspects were identified as:

  • James Franklin Brumback, 68, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule I or II drug and possession of stolen property.
  • Wyatt Leif Gil, 32, of Roanoke, Virginia, charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule I or II drug and possession of stolen property.
  • Stella Verdaunta Farmer, 61, of Atkins, Virginia, charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule I or II drug and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police said the seized substances will be sent to a forensic lab for analysis. An E-Trace is also being conducted on the firearm.
