Couple indicted for $147,000 inside Job at Euclid’s Marc’s Store

EUCLID — A former employee of a Marc’s supermarket in Euclid, Ohio, Ariel Miller, and her partner, Cartier Malone Pickens, were indicted for orchestrating and executing an armed robbery at the store in February 2023.

According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, Miller, 29, and Pickens, 31, schemed to misappropriate over $147,000 in an inside job at the store where Miller was employed.

The couple allegedly orchestrated the robbery through text messages exchanged on February 4 and 5, with Pickup arriving at the store on February 5 around 6 p.m.

Once inside, Pickens confronted Miller, pressing a firearm to her back and instructing her to walk towards the store’s cash office.

Upon arrival, Miller purportedly filled Pickens’ backpack with cash from the safe before he pistol-whipped her and fled the scene.

She then alerted the Euclid Police, framing the incident as a genuine robbery.

“Tomorrow … stick to the plan,” read one of the incriminating texts between Miller and Pickens, with explicit instructions to “Have your hood on” and “Make sure yu delete everything out your phone including this.”

Their arrest on October 10 was facilitated by Euclid and Shaker Heights Police, alongside the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
