
MICHIGAN — Two people were killed and another was injured after a single-vehicle crash late Sunday night in Saginaw, according to police.
Police and firefighters responded to the crash at approximately 11:46 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at the intersection of South Washington and Gallagher avenues. Authorities said they found a vehicle that had crashed into a utility pole, causing the engine compartment to erupt in flames.
Firefighters extinguished the fire while emergency responders worked to remove the occupants from the vehicle.
A 24-year-old Saginaw woman who was driving was rescued from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
A 24-year-old Saginaw woman riding in the front passenger seat was also taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries. A 29-year-old Saginaw man who was riding in the back seat was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released the identities of the two people who died, citing pending notification of their next of kin.
