
FLORIDA — Two Jacksonville residents were killed Friday morning after their vehicle crashed through a bridge railing and overturned into the water in Baker County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on County Road 23C near Ruben Crawford Road in Macclenny.
Troopers said a car traveling east on County Road 23C lost control, struck a bridge railing, flipped onto its roof and became fully submerged in the water beneath the bridge.
The driver, a 31-year-old Jacksonville man, and a 32-year-old Jacksonville woman were pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, neither occupant was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
No additional information was released. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
