INDIANA — Fort Wayne Police are investigating after an adult man was found unresponsive along a roadway early Friday morning.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 3:11 a.m. June 19 to the intersection of Maysville Road and Lake Forest Drive after a passerby reported finding a man lying on the side of the road who appeared to be unconscious.
When officers and emergency medical personnel arrived, they confirmed the individual was an adult male. Personnel with the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police have not released the man’s identity or any information about the circumstances surrounding his death.
The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) and Air Support Unit (ASU) responded to process the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
The intersection of Maysville Road and Lake Forest Drive is expected to remain closed for several hours while investigators gather evidence. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
Authorities said additional information, including the identity of the deceased and preliminary findings, will be released as it becomes available. The investigation remains ongoing.
