SOUTH CAROLINA — A crash on Interstate 77 is causing major traffic disruptions Wednesday morning in the Columbia area.
According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation, all northbound lanes of I-77 are blocked near Exit 15A at Percival Road following a crash.
Traffic cameras from the transportation department showed emergency crews responding to the scene as vehicles backed up behind the closure.
Officials have not released details on how many vehicles were involved or whether any injuries were reported.
Motorists traveling through the area should expect significant delays and consider alternate routes until the roadway can be reopened.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
