OHIO — A Jenera man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Hancock County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded to the intersection of Lincoln Highway and County Road 15 in Orange Township at approximately 5:58 a.m. following reports of a crash.
Investigators said Chad Shepler, 30, of Jenera, was driving a 2008 Pontiac G-6 westbound on Lincoln Highway when a 57-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Cruze traveling northbound on County Road 15 failed to yield at a stop sign.
The two vehicles collided in the intersection and traveled off the northwest side of the roadway before coming to rest in a field.
Shepler was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze was transported to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the highway patrol, both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and impairment is not believed to have been a factor.
The crash remains under investigation.
