TEXAS — Multiple people were killed in a wrong-way crash early Sunday morning on San Antonio’s southwest side, according to police.
Officers were dispatched around 5:29 a.m. to the 13000 block of Southwest Loop 410 eastbound after receiving reports of a wrong-way driver. While officers were responding, additional calls reported a major crash in the area.
When police arrived, they found both vehicles involved in the crash fully engulfed in flames. Authorities said all occupants inside both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have not yet determined how many people were inside the vehicles because of the severity of the fire. The identities of the victims have not been released.
Police said the investigation remains active, and many details surrounding the crash, including what led to it, are still under investigation.
The crash caused significant traffic delays Sunday morning as emergency crews worked at the scene and investigators gathered evidence. No additional information was immediately available.
