
NORTH CAROLINA — Four people were injured, including three who suffered gunshot wounds, during a shooting and assault at a gathering in Greenville on Thursday night, according to the Greenville Police Department.
Police said officers were notified around 9 p.m. June 11 that multiple people with injuries, including gunshot wounds, had arrived at ECU Health Medical Center.
Investigators later identified a residence in the 600 block of Pittman Drive, specifically 604 Pittman Drive, as the scene of the incident.
According to a preliminary investigation, a large gathering was taking place at the residence when an altercation involving multiple people escalated into gunfire.
Authorities said a 25-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the thigh, a 17-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the groin, and a 27-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the forearm. A 22-year-old was also seriously injured after being struck in the head with a baseball bat.
Police said several victims arrived at the hospital in personal vehicles, while one victim was transported by EMS.
As part of the investigation, detectives obtained search warrants for the residence and several vehicles connected to the incident. During the execution of those warrants, investigators recovered several firearms and other evidence believed to be related to the shooting and assault.
Detectives have conducted numerous interviews with witnesses and individuals involved in the incident. No arrests have been announced.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
