One person dead following motorcycle crash in Ohio

OHIO — A motorcyclist was killed in an early morning crash Friday in Stark County, according to the Canton Police Department.

Police said the crash occurred shortly after 1 a.m. in the 900 block of Cleveland Avenue Northwest.

Investigators determined the rider was traveling northbound on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when they lost control while negotiating a curve. The motorcycle left the roadway and struck a guardrail.

The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.

Police said it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
