INDIANA — A multi-agency narcotics investigation led to the seizure of more than five pounds of methamphetamine and the arrest of a Seymour man on multiple felony charges.

According to the Seymour Police Department, officers with the department’s Narcotics and Detective Divisions executed a search warrant around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 700 block of Noble Street.

The operation involved assistance from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Team (JNET) and agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Investigators said the search uncovered more than five pounds of methamphetamine, quantities of marijuana, numerous THC vape cartridges and THC-infused gummies, and a handgun. Authorities estimated the street value of the seized narcotics at more than $20,000.

Following the search, police arrested 23-year-old Xander Cade Ault of Seymour. Jail records show he was booked into the Jackson County Jail and is being held without bond.

Ault faces preliminary charges of dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with a prior conviction, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, neglect of a dependent, maintaining a common nuisance, dealing marijuana and possession of marijuana.

The investigation remains ongoing, and formal charges are pending review by the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities noted that all charges are allegations, and Ault is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
