
TENNESSEE — A Chattanooga man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Dunlap on Sunday, according to the Dunlap Police Department.
Police said officers stopped a vehicle with malfunctioning tail lights near the U.S. 127 and Highway 111 on-ramp.
During the stop, officers conducted what police described as a “plain-view search” and discovered approximately 31.2 grams of a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and about 4.7 grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.
Authorities identified the suspect as John Stephens.
Stephens has been charged with felony possession of Schedule II methamphetamine, simple possession of marijuana, and driving while in possession of methamphetamine.
