
FLORIDA — A 62-year-old Venice man was killed Tuesday night after his sport utility vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in Sarasota County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. on June 9 along Jacaranda Boulevard north of William Penn Way.
Troopers said the man was driving a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport southbound on Jacaranda Boulevard when the vehicle veered left, traveled into the median and collided with a tree.
The driver suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead. No other vehicles were involved.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities have not released the victim’s name.
