INDIANA — A person died following a shooting Wednesday morning on Indianapolis’ north side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers were dispatched around 5:35 a.m. to the 6700 block of Woodmere Circle after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located a person suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment but was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
Investigators have not provided details about what led to the shooting or whether any suspects have been identified.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Additional information is expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
