Over 70 people arrested following police operation in Virginia

VIRGINIA — More than 70 people were arrested during a three-day targeted enforcement operation in Richmond, according to the Richmond Police Department.

Police announced Tuesday that the operation focused on the Rocketts Landing and Jefferson Park areas following ongoing complaints from residents about illegal activity, excessive noise, reckless driving, trespassing and other quality-of-life concerns.

According to authorities, officers arrested 73 people on misdemeanor trespassing charges during the enforcement effort. Police also served two felony warrants, though additional details about those cases were not released.

The operation was conducted jointly by the Richmond Police Department and the Henrico County Police Division.

In a statement, Richmond Police said the department remains committed to addressing concerns raised by community members and working alongside law enforcement partners to improve safety in city neighborhoods.

“RPD remains committed to addressing community concerns and working with our law enforcement partners to help keep Richmond neighborhoods safe, welcoming and enjoyable for residents and visitors alike,” the department said.
