One person arrested following drug bust in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A La Grange man is facing multiple drug-related charges following a traffic stop in Kinston on Monday morning, according to police.

The Kinston Police Department said officers stopped a vehicle for traffic violations around 7:30 a.m. in the 400 block of East King Street.

During the stop, officers conducted an investigation and developed probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants. Police said a passenger, identified as Marcuss Sutton, was found in possession of heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine.

According to warrants, Sutton also had three needles, including one that was loaded, along with other drug paraphernalia.

Sutton was arrested and taken to the Lenoir County Jail.

He has been charged with possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Authorities said Sutton was booked into jail under a $15,000 bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
