MISSISSIPPI — Authorities are investigating after a body was recovered from the Mississippi River in Coahoma County over the weekend.
According to the Coahoma County Fire Department, the body was found and recovered Saturday, June 6, during a multi-agency response involving the Coahoma County Fire Department and the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the investigation also included assistance from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Helena Fire Department, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Task Force 1 and DeSoto County Emergency Services.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased or any information regarding the circumstances surrounding the death.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not announced any additional findings.
