North Carolina resident dead following motorcycle crash in Tennessee

TENNESSEE — A North Carolina motorcyclist was killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 321 in Carter County on Saturday, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred when a Toyota FJ Cruiser traveling westbound on Highway 321 collided with a motorcycle that had crossed into oncoming traffic, according to a THP report.

Investigators said the motorcycle was traveling eastbound when it left its lane and entered the westbound lane, where it struck the FJ Cruiser.

The motorcyclist, identified as Anthony Inestroza, 32, of North Carolina, was airlifted from the scene. Authorities said he died while being transported to Johnson City Medical Center.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
