
MARYLAND — More than 5,500 homes and businesses across Maryland are currently without electricity Sunday morning, according to the latest outage data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 5,598 customers statewide are without power, representing about 0.21% of the more than 2.64 million customers tracked across the state.
Maryland currently has the seventh-highest number of power outages in the United States and ranks sixth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Frederick County is reporting the largest number of outages in the state, with 1,162 customers currently without electricity. Baltimore County follows with 1,079 outages, while Washington County is reporting 997. Other counties with significant outages include Prince George’s County with 759 customers without power, Carroll County with 636, Baltimore City with 407, Montgomery County with 377 and Anne Arundel County with 85.
Among utility providers, FirstEnergy is reporting the largest number of outages, with 2,966 customers currently without service. Baltimore Gas & Electric is reporting 1,875 outages, while Pepco has 730 customers without power. Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative reports 24 outages, and Delmarva Power is reporting three.
Utility crews continue working to restore service across affected areas. Outage totals remain current and are expected to fluctuate throughout the day as repairs are completed and additional outage reports are received.
