
NEW JERSEY — More than 16,000 homes and businesses across New Jersey are currently without electricity Sunday morning, according to the latest outage data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the most recent update, 16,325 customers statewide are without power, representing about 0.39% of the more than 4.15 million customers tracked across the state.
New Jersey currently has the fourth-highest number of power outages in the United States and ranks second nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Morris County is reporting the largest number of outages, with 4,628 customers currently without electricity. Essex County has 2,493 outages, followed by Sussex County with 2,192 and Hunterdon County with 1,872. Passaic County is reporting 1,619 customers without power, while Warren County has 1,045 outages. Bergen County is reporting 808 outages and Middlesex County has 382.
Among utility providers, FirstEnergy is reporting the largest number of outages, with 10,721 customers currently without service. Public Service Electric & Gas reports 5,410 outages, while Atlantic City Electric is reporting 154. Orange & Rockland Utilities has 35 customers without power.
Utility crews continue working to restore service across affected communities. Outage totals remain subject to change throughout the day as repairs are completed and additional reports are received.
