VIRGINIA — Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a bicyclist that occurred Friday afternoon in the Town of Elkton.
According to state police, the crash happened at approximately 2:25 p.m. at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and North Street.
Investigators said a truck was traveling south on North Street when the driver was unable to avoid a bicyclist who entered the intersection from Virginia Avenue, where a stop sign controls traffic.
The juvenile bicyclist was transported by emergency crews for medical treatment but later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
Virginia State Police said the crash remains under investigation.
