SOUTH CAROLINA — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a pickup truck in Florence County early Saturday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened shortly after midnight on TV Road near Joan Road.
According to investigators, a 2014 GMC pickup truck was traveling north on TV Road when it struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, authorities said.
No information about the pedestrian’s identity was immediately released.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
