
VIRGINIA — A fatal tractor-trailer crash has closed portions of Interstate 64 westbound in Goochland County and is causing significant traffic delays Saturday morning.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, the westbound right lane and shoulder are closed near mile marker 171, about five miles west of the Route 288 interchange.
Virginia State Police confirmed troopers are investigating a fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer on the interstate. Officials have not released information about the victim or the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Traffic was backed up for approximately two miles as of late Saturday morning, and transportation officials warned that the scene is expected to remain active for an extended period.
Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays and consider alternate routes.
